but you got to have friends...

This Christmas season, Janet and I are blessed to be able to spend time with friends on the Rhine River. Christmas Markets, Beautiful Cathedrals and Castles, Good Food and Wine all await our group.

There are 5 couples on this winter voyage who I have been calling the Rhine River Gang.  Our journey will begin in Basel Switzerland and the vessel AMAKRISTINA will transit us down the Rhine River to Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Of course, there will be frequent stops to enjoy Glühwein along the way!

This is not the first December gathering of this gang. We have 6 couples that have been sharing a multi-course holiday dinner for almost 20 years. These annual feasts have been enjoyed in restaurants, in our homes, and even at a beautiful villa on the island of Saint John, USVI. A week of sun and blue water is much different than this river trip, but without a doubt there is one constant – Good Friends!

Two couples we usually celebrate with will not make this expedition and they will be truly missed. However, new friends, Ken and Julie, will be joining in on the fun and hopefully for many more adventures to come.

Christmas is such a special time and to be able to spend a week visiting Christmas Markets, hearing the voices of children's choirs, and being able to slip away from the craziness of the holidays is a real treat.  Please join us by following along as we experience Christkindelsmärik in Switzerland, France, Germany, and the Netherlands.

      It is so nice to have friends that you enjoy enough to travel together in a gang. We hope to meet lots of new people along the way, and get in the Christmas spirit while exploring new places. If all goes well with the WIFI, I promise to keep you updated along the way.
